Present at the event were representatives from the Tivat, Kotor, Budva and Cetinje municipalities within the tourism, civil and public sectors. They were introduced to the project, its objectives and activities, both planned and already carried out. Results of the research conducted on representatives of the tourism and civil sectors were presented, as well as the results of surveys of tourists conducted in August of 2016.
Clarifying the concept of voluntourism, acquainting the gathered public with the types of voluntourism packages available, and highlighting the significance of inter-sector cooperation in the organisation of voluntourism programs, are of utmost importance during the presentation of this project to the public.
Most of the present parties have already had some experience in volunteer coordination of this type, but expressed doubts about determining the rights and obligations of the tourism and civil sectors in the organisation of voluntourism programs. They also expressed concern about resolving issues that may arise during the actual volunteering of tourists in Montenegro.
Because of the genuine outpour of interest for developing voluntourism programs, this presentation resulted in some substantial ideas on programs that could work in the wider border area.
